I take on short-term infrastructure contracts and project work in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and remote. I work hands-on: racks, firmware, consoles, and configs — not slide decks.
What I do
Server & site migrations
Bare metal to Proxmox/VMware, host-to-host moves, and web/app migrations with DNS cutover planning. Recent work: migrated a production WordPress business site between hosts with zero downtime — DNS, SSL, email (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), and weekly backup rotation included.
Datacenter operations & remote hands
Rack-and-stack, hardware triage, RAM/CPU/drive swaps, IPMI/BMC recovery (including SPI chip-level reflash), firmware updates, and asset documentation in NetBox. I currently do this daily across production DAL facilities.
Network engineering
Arista EOS and VyOS builds: VLAN segmentation, LACP, DHCP relay, firewall rulesets, WireGuard/Tailscale overlays, and BGP lab work. I design, configure, verify with real tests, and document.
Out-of-band & recovery
Headless provisioning over IP-KVM and serial console, OS installs with no local access, GRUB/password recovery, and bringing dead BMCs back to life.
How I work
- Fixed-scope quotes for defined projects; hourly for remote-hands and triage.
- Every change verified and documented — before/after evidence, rollback plans.
- Comfortable in production: client-impact-first change discipline.
